I wrote a song a while ago about how hard this life can be. And about the necessity of hope. As humans, we often desire to slow down, to cop out, to make excuses...but the truth is we are here for a short while, and we have a calling to love others. I wrote these words with all the sincerity within me; it's interesting how my own words are now challenging me. Maybe they will challenge you as well.
When I looked in her eyes I found bravery
I lacked in myself
She knew peace that most in this world haven't felt.
She said, 'You can't choose what goes down'
In this world, so tangled in hate
But the love that we give,
is the difference we'll make.
She said:
Some days you'll want to run home,
But don't stop fighting down this road.
